Boohoo Spring Adventures: Bristol to Bath Cycle Path

Boohoo Helen Jumpsuit* // Primark Top // Dr Martens Shoes // Specsavers Sunglasses

The weather is getting better and the days are finally getting longer, which means its the perfect time to go out and explore. After recently taking a big step and joining the gym I decided to make use of my weekend doing something fun and healthy so we cycled to Bath on the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path, also known as the railway path. Hiring bikes from Cycle the City, who rent out bikes for just £16 per day, we embarked on the all-round 30 mile journey to and from Bath where we were able to see the hidden countryside beauty and wildlife of  Bristol and Bath that you often miss when spending everyday roaming around the city centre. On the way back we of course stopped off for a quick drink in the Bird in Hand in Saltford, which had a huge beer garden that was perfect for the weather.

When you're cycling you need to be comfy otherwise it will make the whole experience much less enjoyable. Boohoo's playsuits and jumpsuits are perfect for this sort of occasion as they are comfy since you don't have to worry about anything falling down, it allows easy movement to cycle and makes look good too so you don't have whip out the lycra shorts. I chose the beautiful Helen Embroidered Culotte Jumpsuit which comes in both white and black. It is quite a simple style with a basic strappy top and culotte bottoms but the beautifully vibrant embroidered detailing on the bottom really adds a certain something and a nice pop of colour. I popped on a basic long sleeved top underneath as I was expecting it to be quite cool but it was in fact a super hot day and eventually had to ditch the top, making the jumpsuit perfect for all weathers. It kept me really comfy throughout the day and even endured the moment that I fell off the bike and cut my leg, not ruining the jumpsuit in the slightest. Talk about that for quality.

If you're thinking about using the warm weather to go on a nice country bike ride, I'd definitely recommend checking out Boohoo's playsuits and jumpsuits to keep you feeling comfy and looking good.

What Spring/Summer adventures do you have planned?

camo jacket- vintage/army shop in Stratford upon Avon // Top - Zara// Jeans - Charity Shop // Socks - Primark // Shoes - Dr. Martens
In this outfit  post I try to blend in with the trees. I was really determined to shoot this outfit and obviously the heavens opened and it rained all day but boyfriend (photographer) and I persevered and managed to get some decent pictures. This is a bit of a throwback outfit as it's definitely something I would have worn in 2012. I guess that's what happens when you go home for Easter and raid your old clothes. I've updated my old look with raw hems, fishnet socks and my DM shoes rather than boots. I think this outfit would work really well with my red shoes or some equally dainty flats but they were not really weather appropriate.

Red Suede Shoes

 Primark Dress, Shoes & Tights

I finally got myself some red shoes and I think they look really cute with this blue shirt material dress. I don't usually go for v-neck style but this works for me, especially the super sweet bow detailing on the back which makes it a whole lot more interesting. As you can see, it does get creased pretty easily so watch out for that if like me you're going to go sit in a park in the sunshine.

Shirt Dress

Shirt Dress - Charity Shop // Neck tie - Boohoo // Fishnet tights & jacket - Primark // Shoes - Dr Martens

The more observant amongst you will have noticed that the picture quality has suddenly increased. Yup after 5/6 years of blogging, I've finally invested in a decent camera. I've been meaning to blog this outfit ever since I bought this dress which was such a long time ago. I don't usually wear white because I spill stuff so easily but so far so good. A shirt dress is definitely something you need in your wardrobe as they always come back in trend and it gives a nod to the shirt trend that is so popular at the moment. I love red details at the moment so I had to pair the black and white with a pop of red with the neck tie, it makes the outfit more interesting if not kind of air hostessy. And of course, the fishnets had to make another appearance just so I can try and look cooler, emphasis on the try.

Raw Hem Jeans

Primark Jacket & Neck Tie // River Island Top // Charity Shop & DIY jeans // DM Shoes // Pull & Bear Bag

Will I ever go a day where I don't wear something from primark? Probably not. I really love this top I got from river island which is a smock style but it has a weird uneven hemline that I really love, it makes it a bit more unique and different to your average white tee. I've already stained it of course but it's still wearable. I cut the bottoms off these old mom jeans that I ad and I much prefer them like this. It's like I've got a whole new pair of jeans.

March Goals

This month has gone way too quickly for my liking but it has been a pretty awesome month. I have a lot planned for March, including gigs and my birthday shenanigans (I'm going to be 21 and I'm terrified).  I completed 3 out of 5 of my February goals. Lets just say it's been too cold to run and early mornings are not for me. Excuses excuses.... Here's 5 more goals for to keep me motivated throughout March.

1. Finish my dissertation I'm currently half way through but I want to be pretty much finished by the end of the month so that I can spend April editing and making it the best it can be.
2. Be a morning person, like seriously. So trying to get up early in February didn't work out that well but I'm working on it. I need more hours in the day and getting up early will give me so much more time to get stuff done. I just need to get my lazy butt out of bed...but it's so comfy.
3. Have an awesome birthday. With 3 deadlines, a looming exams and dissertation hand in and a conference to prepare for, this month is going to be packed with uni work. But as well a couple of gigs, my birthday weekend is a time to chill and have a wicked time. I have a lot of things planned so it should be alright. You're only 21 once, right?
4. Worry less. I think I say this a lot but I worry about anything and everything and my life would be way much easier right now if I worried less. I need to just calm it and stay positive and focused and all should be ok. Hopefully.
5. Enjoy my last few weeks of academia. Although this term doesn't end until the end of April, most of my lectures will be coming to an end this month and who knows if or when I will go back into education. Maybe I'll do a masters at some point or maybe I wont. I really like being in education, it's a safe haven from the real world and I'm not totally ready to leave. I need to enjoy now whilst I still can.

This month is a big one. I'm 21 and finishing up at uni. I guess I need to start adulting now. Maybe I don't wanna.

Primark Faux Leather Jacket, Top & Scarf // Boohoo Nude Midi Skirt (similar) // Pull & Bear Bag // H&M Boots

I'm never 100% sure if I like how midi skirts look on me but after seeing loads of people on Instagram wearing pleated midis I had to get one. Turns out I really like them. I got this one from Boohoo in the Christmas sales and it's pretty darn good. I like it best paired with black accessories, to  stick to my usual plain colour palette.

Gingham & Fishnets

Topshop Dress // Primark jacket, scarf and tights, Doc Martens Shoes

And the search for interesting backgrounds continues. I think bf had fun playing photographer shooting this outfit and I felt that I had achieved official fashion blogger status when there were some odd men walking past wondering what the hell we were doing. Also you'd think that after about 6 years of blogging I would have mastered a decent pose but nah.

I've been loving pairing my gingham dress with my fishnets and a leather jacket, it really turns it from cutesy to, dare I say it, ~edgy~ look. I'm not totally convinced that it's a weather appropriate outfit choice but I'm willing to sacrifice warmth to look good.

5 February Goals

Well that was a long month wasn't it? I've had a pretty decent January. I've been to London to look around art galleries for my dissertation, I've written a decent amount of my dissertation and I've completed dry January (I had 1 day off but I am making up for it). The next month is going to fly by so here are some goals to keep me on track:

1. Write more dissertation. I say this is a goal but it's something that I 100% have to do. I want to get as much as I can completed by the end of the month to take of the pressure.
2. Get ahead on essays. Another uni related one but I have a busy month in March so I need to get ahead, I just need some more motivation pls.
3. Don't let uni stress stop me from having fun. It's super easy to feel bad for having a day off , for not constantly working or just feeling like you haven't done enough. I have some fun things planned for this month and I need to remember that I deserve to have a break!
4. Go running more. I have been on a few runs this year and even though I am awful at it, I want to keep at it and get the most out of my trainers.
5. Get up earlier. I don't know if it's January blues or what but I have been finding it so hard to get up in the mornings. I feel so tired if I don't have at least 10 hours sleep and I find myself nodding off or with itchy eyes throughout the day. I want to get up earlier and be super productive.

Septum Jewellery Collection

I wrote a guide on getting your septum pierced a little while ago and I've since added to my jewellery collection. The majority of my jewellery is from The Body Jewellery Shop who stock products for all piercings from septum jewellery and ear piercings to stretchers

Black Barbell/Horseshoe - This jewellery is super cute and not too in your face so perfect for everyday wear. I like that it's in black as it makes a nice difference to your basic silver jewellery. It's easy to get in and out as you just unscrew one of the balls.

Rose Gold and Crystal Horseshoe - This is on of my favourites. Unlike the one above this one has two pointed closures rather than balls. On each spike there are sweet little crystals which make it perfect for if you want a fancier look if you're going out for a special occasion.

Rose Gold Hinged Hoop - The picture doesn't do the colour justice but it's a beautiful rose gold colour and we all know how popular rose gold is at the moment, especially in the blogging world. I much prefer hooped septum piercings for everyday wear as you don't have to worry about them being wonky. This one also has a simple hinge closure so it's easy to take it in and out.

Steel Retainer - I got this one as I conducted some work experience at a school and I had to hide my piercing. This retainer makes it super easy to hide your septum piercing as you just flip it up and hide it in your nose. It can feel a bit weird at first but once you get used to it, you can't even notice that it's there.

What's your favourite piece?

Brantano Wishlist

Today I've got a Brantano wishlist for you. I love buying new shoes, especially boots and let me tell you, they have an amazing selection of boots to choose from. I particularly like the Kelly Ankle boots (no.3) especially the chelsea boot, doc marten-esque style to them, they look super comfy and perfect for everyday wear whereas the Chelly boots (no. 2) are a good way to smarten things up a bit. Brogues are another way to go if you're looking for smart and I think the Waving pair (no. 4) would look amazing with a pair of tapered trousers so you're showing off a bit of ankle. Trainers are something I'm desperate to try but I just don't know if I can pull it off but this Rocket Dog Magic ones (no. 5) are really tempting me. If you're really looking to glam up an outfit, maybe for a special occasion and you want to wear heels, the Clare heels (no.1) are so pretty and the strap means they're unlike to fall of so that's a bonus.

Which are your favourites? Are there any shoe styles that you want to try?

Grey Knits

Primark faux leather jacket // Primark Jumper // Primark Scarf  (similar) // Zara culottes (similar) // DM Shoes

As you can tell, I'm trying to take my pictures in more interesting locations/backgrounds so or this outfit it was the graffiti of stokes croft. I bought these culottes a while back in October from Zara. I can't find them on the website which is a damn shame because they were a measly £9.99  (not even a sale price) but there are some similar on their site. I love pairing them with chunky grey knitwear, especially this primark jumper which I pretty much live in. It makes my library days so much more comfy.

Fishnet Frenzy

I've seen so many pictures on pinterest and instagram recently of people wearing fishnet tights and now of course I love fishnet tights. I got 2 pairs for £3 from Primark and a pair of £1 fishnet socks so here's a variety of ways that you could style them. I think they look really cool but I am worried about being cold because the weather is still damn nippy. Here's a pic of how I styled the socks so far.

How would you style fishnet tights or socks? Do you like this trend?
