Hard Out Here

Coat - Primark // Jumper - Primark // Shirt - H&M // Jeans - Topshop Joni // Boots - New Look // Scarf - H&M // Lipstick - Sleek 'Vamp' (Review here)

This is just one of those outfits that I just shove on when I can't be bothered as it's warm and comfy. How amazing are my new boots though? I wanted some black chunky heeled boots and couldn't find any that met my satisfaction or were actually in stock so when I stumbled upon these when Christmas shopping in Manchester, I persuaded my dearest Mama to get them as apart of my Christmas present. They were £29.99 which is a bargain for a decent pair of boots and they have good grip to stop my falling on my butt which is always a plus.

Review: Rimmel London Nail Varnish - Pompous

Hi guys! I thought I would do a review of one of the nail varnishes that I will be wearing a lot this A/W - Rimmel London 60 Seconds polish in the shade 'pompous' which, as you can tell, is a dark metallic purple. It has a 'express brush' which ensures 1 second application, meaning that it simply has a thicker brush making it easier for you to apply it evenly. As with most nail varnishes, it looks best once you have applied two layers. It does what it says on the bottle and dries super fast which is good if you're impatient like me and end up smudging it when you can't be bothered to wait for it to dry. I was actually quite surprised with how long it lasts before it starts chipping so I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a long lasting nail polish. I love the colour as it's a dark wintery shade but as it's metallic, it's not too dull.

Have you tried this nail varnish? What do you think?

Pretty Vacant

Jumper - Primark // Jeans - Charity Shop // Boots - Doc Martens // Chain - Topshop

I guess you can all probably tell what my favourite winter item is? Yep you guessed it's this jumper. Can you blame me though? It's super fluffy and cosy and I wish it was acceptable (and not gross) to wear it every day.

Who's excited for Dr Who tonight? I know I am but I can't believe it's the second to last episode with Matt Smith. Any fellow Whovians out there? ARE YOU EXCITED?

My Blogging Space

I've had these photos saved ever since I bought my new desk (when it was nice and tidy) but I never got round to actually doing a post so, finally here it is! I love these type of posts where you get to see where bloggers plan and write up all of their blog posts and it's good for being nosey at other bloggers' office décor style. I thought I would contribute where I blog from. Saying this, recently I have ended up being slumped on the sofa to write my posts due to lack of time to sit down at my desk properly.

'Nico' Desk - Argos // Basic Office Char - Argos // Printer - HP Deskjet 1050

Hey guys! Here are just a few things that have inspired me recently. As you can tell I am totally feeling dark colours, tartan trousers and a lil bit of pink. I am in desperate need of some tartan trousers aren't incredibly expensive. I am not really adapting well to winter at the moment, not matter how many layers I wear I end up freezing so I am in need of inspiration to keep me warm and still looking relatively fabulous.

Sugar Town

Jumper - Vintage Fair // Dungarees - Vintage Fair // Tights - ASDA // Boots - Dr. Martens

Hey guys! I don't think I've ever posted an outfit featuring this jumper which is stupid really seeing as I've had it since I bought it way back in March the first time I went to a vintage fair. I decided to wear it under my dungarees as I liked the way the colours looked together and for a bit of extra warmth because lets face it, it's bloody freezing and it's not going to get any better. The only plus side to the cold weather is that it's an indication that Christmas is coming - cue jingle bells and the smell of cinnamon.

Texture

Jumper - Primark // Scarf - H&M // Skirt - H&M // Boots - Doc Martens

Hi guys! I am definitely feeling the all black outfits at the moment so I made it a bit more interesting by adding textures such as fluffy and leather. I can tell I will be wearing this outfit to death this winter as it's nice and snug.
I sent my uni application off the other day and have so far heard back from Huddersfield. It's all so scary and don't want to grow up. Eek!

Review: Barry M Nail Paint - Red Wine

Since it is winter I have been on the look out for a perfect deep red nail varnish and I stumbled upon this Barry M nail paint in the shade 'red wine'. I have used Barry M nail varnishes before and have been very impressed with the quality so I thought I would give this one a go. I was torn between this shade and a darker shad but opted for this one as the other seemed to be a bit more of a brown shade.

In all honesty when one layer has been applied it does look like any other red nail varnish but when you have applied a few coats it gives you a deeper colour. With other nail varnishes if I apply more than one coat it often goes all smudgy (technical term right there) and horrible so I have to start again. In the above picture (please excuse my terrible nail painting skills) I used three coats and no smudgy-ness! On my other hand (not pictured) I used four coats and it still hasn't smudged. This allows you to put on the amount of needed to get it to your preferred darkness. As with most nail varnishes, it needs topping up every few days especially if you're like me and accidently make it chip off all the time.

I really love this nail varnish and I can tell I will be using it a lot this winter as it's a deep autumnal/wintery shade. I think I will definitely be trying some of Barry M's other dark nail polish shades for my perfect winter nails.

Week In Photos #40

Me and mamma Haynes sending whatsapp pics to my sister // Project research is killing me // OOTD - Mesh crop top and velvet maxi // Selfie // Fluffy jumper and tartan dress // playing with sparklers

So this week I have had the week off for holidays but I still spent all of my time doing work and research. Last night I went to a bonfire with my friends and it peed it down a lot of the time we were there but I had such a fab time playing with sparklers and singing our hearts out to Taylor Swift in the car journey home.

I hope you've all had a lovely week!
