velvet madness

within the past year I have become totally obsessed with velvet things and today I bought my 10th and 11th velvet pieces! I now have:

2 Velvet dresses - The left one is from the British Heart Foundation for £5.50 and the right one was from Sense charity shop for £3.50

topshop velvet shorts - £32  (I think)

Velvet skirt - sue ryder charity shop (originally from primark) - £2.50

(sorry about the awful picture) maxi skirt - charity shop in chester - £3.00

sheer and velvet shirt - oxfam £1.99

topshop red velvet skater dress - £20

topshop velvet shoes £15 in the sale

I also have a pair of  velvet heels and a velvet headband.

I think it's safe to say that I am obsessed with velvet. Are there any types of clothing/materials that you collect?

two days of outfits

My sister has finally come home from uni for the summer so, I am very sorry to say that you must prepare to be somewhat neglected because most  of my time will be spent getting mcflurrys and watching the power rangers (SPD EMERGANCY) and buffy. However I promise that posts that I do make will be good!

This was on Tuesday - Sex Pistols oversized crop top - H&M, Floral midi-skirt- Oxfam
I found that the skirt is too big for me (this never happens to me so it's kind of a good thing) to the extent that  I  need to put another hole in my belt!!

This is today's outfit: Stripey jumper - H&M ages ago, Denim Levi's - Wanderland in Manchester and DIY, chain necklace- topshop sale ages ago

I found a new place to take my photos - if I put my  camera on my stool (I don't have a tripod)and put it on my windowsill I can take pictures with natural light!

Playlist of the week (no.3 I think)

So I haven't done one of these in a few weeks because I have been to lazy to move stuff off of my scanner but I finally have. There are only 5 songs on this playlist because my piece of paper was really small and these are just some of the songs I have been listening to a lot recently. You Buffy fans may have noticed that numbers 4 and 5 are from buffy. I have become obsessed once again and yesterday was Joss Whedon's birthday! He was 48.

Now I'm going to print off pictures and put them on my wall and you may see the finished result tomorrow (maybe)

oxfam lovin'

So I went charity shopping today and I actually got something of what I wanted- a floral midi skirt!! I've seen loads of people's posts with midi skirts and they look SO good.

Here is the one I bought today
I know it looks spotty in this picture but it's not!

Skirt- £1.99 Oxfam

OOTD - 23/06/2012

The recent weather has been incredibly terrible as it has done nothing but rain! Yesterday I had to battle getting from my exam to my Mom's car in the torrential rain, trying to stop my skirt from blowing up and my hood from blowing down. I don't know how people manage to look nice when it's like this.

Here is my outfit for the day:

Leather Skirt (don't know if it's fake): Rokit
Floral Doc Martens- Birthday present
Red Bag- present (matalan)

Rabbit ring- urban outfitters
Triangle ring- dorothy perkins

I am hoping that this is a somewhat weatherproof outfit as the skirt doesn't blow up and there is no chance of my feet getting wet. I'm going charity shopping today to see if I can find something nice. I hope to get floral skirts, shirts and jumpers.

I also only have 1 exam left (German on Wednesday) and then I will be free! My sister is coming home on Tuesday so I wont be bored, YAY. However, a HUGE downer on my mood, Moonrise Kingdom isn't being played at my local cinema and I refuse to go the second closest one because it's so expensive in bus fare and the cinema is more expensive and has ARRANGED SEATING who thought of that? I will have to wait for it to come out on DVD which is just depressing. I thought I should just add here that I have also finished Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh, it has taken me 4 months (I find it hard to read everyday)  so I am now going to read the hobbit so I should finish it by the time the film comes out.

What have you all been wearing while it's been peeing it down with rain? I'm running out of ideas!!!

The Lost Boys

(taken from google images)
Today despite still having 4 exams left, I decided to kick back and relax and watch The Lost Boys . For those of you who are not familiar with the film, it's an '80s horror/vampire film about 2 boys (sam and Michael) who move to Santa Clara, 'the death capital of the world' with, with their mother but one of them meets a girl (vampire) and her so called friends turn him into a vampire. It's quite cheesy but I kind of love it.

ooh look at kiefer on the motorbike

Sam and Michael, the two brothers who move to Santa Clara

The Frog Brothers - vampire killers that own a comic store and help Sam and Michael

The Frog parents- HIPPIES

vampires - David (played by kiefer sutherland) on the far left, isn't he gorgeous

Michael in transition - must wear shades to hid from the sun. I think he looks like John Travolta here.

It's kind of funny though because I fancy David from this and Spike from Buffy - both are vampires with bleach blonde hair who enjoy wearing all black and leather jackets.

you can call me 'chief bargain hunter'

Over the past few years I have realised that I am very good at getting bargains without trying, for example in 2007 I got a lovely bag from River Island that was supposed to be £25 in the sale for £5 just because there were some tiny cuts in it and I managed to spend just over £100 on my prom stuff with the most expensive thing being the ticket which was £29!

Anyway, today I managed to get more bargains but this time from Dorothy Perkins.

This pastel skull bracelet was £3.25 reduced from £6.50

These are similar to the urban outfitters ones on my wishlist the other day but were £2 rather than UO's £8

this was £2 reduced from £4

This ring is so cute! It was £2.50 reduced from £5

The jewellery came to £9.75 in total and was supposed to be about £19.50 so I saved a good £10!! I really wanted a black maxi skirt from new look but it was too long as I am short! I know it might seem odd that I have bought stuff when I said I had no money but me and my mom save copper coins for ages and then put them in the bank so I have extra money.

This is what I wore today, very boring I know but I felt like a ninja because I was pretty much dressed all in black.

What have you all done today?? xx

OOTD and what's in my make up bag - 13/06/2012

T-shirt - store twenty one
Jeans - Charity shop
Necklace - Matalan
Moon Earrings- topshop

As you may have noticed lurking in the back of my pictures, I have an army jacket which I got from a car boot for £5. However, I stupidly didn't try it on and it is MASSIVE.
this is what it's like with the sleeves rolled down:

But with the sleeve rolled up a few times it's bearable but I do not yet have the courage or outfit to match it with (comment with ideas) to wear it out so it is just sat on the back of my computer chair.

I see people do these 'what's in my make up bag' things a lot so I thought that I should do one!

(Left to right) - POREfessional - free with glamour magazine, collection 2000 loose powder in translucent, dream matte mousse in 004 light porcelain, natural collection blusher in blushed cheeks (I think that's the colour)  and a little blusher brush I use that's from some set thing, natural collection concealer in fair but it's a bit dark so I can't use too much, planet spa dead sea minerals face serum (try not to put this around your mouth if you lick your lips a lot like I do, you will be able to taste salt for ages), simple moisturiser, powder brush and foundation brush which is underneath it oops both from a set from asda.

Sexy curves mascara in 002 brown black (bought the wrong one didn't I) from B&M bargains for £2.50, rimmel eyebrow pencil in 002 hazel, george eyeliner which is surprisingly good, some eyeshadow set that I have had for absolutely ages.

D&G perfume it is the best thing ever!I love it, MUA lipstick in shade 1 and laval red lipstick in 201 red desire which was about £1 from a make up shop in St. Annes. The laval one is really bright and what I wore to prom.
I seemed to have forgotten to photograph my actual make up bag which is really nice that my mom got for me from a craft market.

And here is a picture of me not wanting to do revision and wanted to shiessen my self (it means shoot).

Tuesday, 12 June 2012

  1. Denim shirt - topshop £35
  2. Denim backpack - topshop £34
  3. **Oversized jacket - topshop £89**
  4. Polaroid Camera - Urban outfitters £120
  5. Disco Pants - american apparel £70
  6. Knitted Cardigan - Ark clothing £16 (sale)
  7. Double sole leopard print creepers - underground £84
  8. Hoop cross earrings - Urban outfitters £8
  9. Spiked headband- Topshop £12.50
I currently have about £1.50 in purse because I've had to pay my sister for train fair for Edinburgh (I can go!!!) for August. I like many people when I'm broke I go on clothes websites and mope about how I can't afford things so I thought I would share with you the things I want the most.

As you may have noticed I have put number 3 in bold, underlined it and put stars around it because I have wanted that jacket for 3 years now ever since I saw some super cool girl wearing one at a bus stop near where I live. It was a great moment because it is rare to see someone with such good fashion sense and I said to myself, "I want that jacket" and have lusted over it for 3 years. Sad I know.

p.s. I had a history exam today and I don't want to jinx it but it went really well because I adore history! How did you all find it (if you did it of course)?? xxx

11/06/2012 RS Exam Outfit

Sex Pistols oversized crop top - H&M
Floral Skirt - Rokit
Creepers- some shop in Manchester
Pastel Socks- Topshop
Leggings (under the socks)- H&M
Bag- Shiny (Bromsgrove)

Over the past few days I have been debating over what to wear for my exams because most of them are over 1hour long so I don't want to wear something that is in anyway uncomfortable. I resulted in an abundance of leggings based outfits as you will see over the next few days.

Just to mention, I actually made this post yesterday and I wanted to check out the schedule option!

Sunday, 10 June 2012

Today I have done almost everything, including taking and editing these pictures, to avoid doing revision for my RE exam tomorrow. It's about deity, end of life, good and evil and religion and science which are all really interesting but, I cannot believe I am saying this, I need teachers to keep reminding me the importance of the exam because at the minute the most important thing for me tomorrow is what I am going to wear. I need to sort my priorities out!

shirt (it's actually covered in pink spots!)- Charity shop
Dungarees- primark
cross earrings- matalan

I also have a playlist of the week ready for you all which I will upload as soon as I decide to clear everything off my scanner most of which has fallen on the floor.
